NGEEEEEE.....naunsa.
Unsaun pag kat un?
I do not understand where you draw the connection between things like these to veterans of the armed services. I am in the Army and I know a lot of people that have been in the service. They are perfectly fine people. Do you have any numbers to back up your statement?
You are overly comparing oranges to apples. The US also does not have an armed rebellion. The US also does have more personal freedoms. The US also does have due process of law that even drug dealers get. The US also has more data on mental illness. The US has also been in a war for over 15 years. Do not give yourself a pat on the back. Just because the spotlight is not on the Philippines, that does not mean the Philippines can stand on it's high horse and snub their nose at the US because of their "resilience". If you want to pat countries on their back, look towards the Scandanavian countries ... a fairer and more equivalent comparison where one can look at policy that can help instead of something so arbitratry as "resilience".
It addresses you. You claim the Filipino people are "resilient" and I ask ... what are you resilient at? The Philippines has all kinds of problems ... problems that are not addressed by the government or healthcare. Resiliency is a health issue ... so what is the Philippines resilient at? ... at keeping all their problems to themselves and putting up with things? That is not resiliency, that is a recipe for revolution and rebellion ... something the Philippines has always had. I am in the US Army and we go through tons and tons of resiliency training because our line of work is more stressful than almost every job out there. So define resiliency. If you want to define resiliency as "not going out and killing a bunch of people" ... then the Philippines certainly does not have resiliency since that happens in the Philippines, except there it's sanctioned by the rich, the politicians and the President himself.
Resilience is better known as inner discipline. The ability to handle the problems of life without recourse to either third party experts or governments as is done in most Western countries. For example, there are no self-respecting Americans who are not in theraphy and in Scandinavian countries, people's problems are handed to the government to solve. Filipinos, manage these problems on their own, within their families.
Alright. With this statement presented as fact pulled out of thin air with nothing behind, I have no choice but to put you in the ... Stop Making Your Own Facts category of posters. It is IMPOSSIBLE to have an intelligent discussion with people in this category because although they sound articulate enough, there is no substance behind it. More hollywood than academic.
