hi this question maybe stupid but for the longest time i have been connecting my Pc (tower) to an AVR. Is it bad if i just connect it directly to the power outlet without using my AVR? dont ask why ehhe... thanks!

power from the power outlet is not stable. naa na sya gitawag nga "spikes". atong power supply bya kay dli automatic mo adjust sa voltahi, dli pareha sa ac adapter sa laptop nga paslak diretso
some say that the PSU itself can already regulates the source supply? so putting an AVR is redundant. is this true?
exactly my question... if the PSU is a regulator, then why have an AVR in the first place... please advice, thanks!
yes its true, PSU is a regulator BUT sometimes its doesnt have enoug protection from power fluctuation/spikes that why its necesasary to have a good AVR for stable power supply to your PC.
ayaw pabug-ati ug trabaho inyo PSU's, we know most of us are using generic PSU's... its doing its job to supply and maintain power to your system. if dili na kakaya imo PSU sa spikes. it will surely effect power supply on the board, hd, etc. thus possible of making errors and unstability.
correct! sakto kaau si AMD_infinium... protection pra sa low voltages and voltage spikes so that the PSU won't have to work that hard.
I think The PSU isn't exactly a regulator. think Its more like a voltage adapter for the VDD, VCORE, VDimm, 5V rail, the 12V rail and some other parts in the Mobo. all together in a 1 PSU.
Sako lang experience my HD has many bad sectors when I noticed that
i'm not using an AVR. anyway barato raman sad ni AVR for protection against
voltage spikes.
