it's basically if you're banned when you open that account you wouldn't see any topic.....
as for the mute you can still see topics but you're suspended on posting.

mute will expire. while banned accounts needs to manually unbanned by the mods/admin. (which seems to be closer to never LOL)

Each point usually lasts up to one month unless otherwise specified by the moderator..

the infraction will expire... but the infraction tab will not disappear. you can see the expiry date on the infraction tab you can see it when you click profile tab situated above very left of this forum.. or through viewing your profile...

it will remind you of your violations..

Mute = You cannot post but you can still login and send a private message to the moderator that gave you the infraction.
Ban = You cannot login until after the ban expires. However, if you get banned for life which is equal to 15 infraction points, you might just as well create a new account.
