IMO, it doesn't matter how high your salary is if you keep spending it but when i was a fresh grad around 10k was enough. still, after a years, you'd want something more. it's part of human nature.

Depende ra na sa imo lifestyle.
I agree, depende ra gyud sa imong lifestyle, if you think about it, what is the percent of people working in cebu have 25K salary? does that mean those who earn less than are not living comfortably? I have friends who don't have an Internet connection, cable and they are perfectly happy...
Pila man minimum wage sa Cebu karon? I agree it depends on your lifestyle. It's evident among Filipinos kung modaku ang income modaku sad ang spending. Example, ordinaryo ra cellphone kay di pa man kaafford, I bet you, if he has more money he'd buy the more expensive one even if he don't really need it, like almost everybody does. Instead of saving that money or perhaps invest it, they spend it.
Proper budgeting is important, list down all your expenses monthly, budget miscellaneous, this is really hard to do but if you have a family, you need to do it. There was an episode in Oprah regarding this, "how much life savings do you need to survive?", 7 months... Meaning, how much you spend, your bills, food, everything in a month multiplied by 7, that's how much you should have in your bank as life savings... emergency money.. it gives room for whatever crisis you'll have, loss of work, inflation, etc. That was.. of course... US setting but it don't hurt if you apply it to your family.
Instead of spending occassionally on leisure, save and plan for a vacation once or twice a year. Don't be an impulsive buyer. Schedule when to buy your kids clothes, or toys, like birthdays or Christmas. It don't hurt for them to wait, you can even buy them more.
What's comfortable for me is, when you're not caught in the middle of the month without nothing to spend at all.
So if you plan to get married, it don't hurt to save ahead, just some thousands as life savings. The more savings you have, the more you will be encouraged to save or invest.
The secret to a comfortable life is "don't live beyond your means".
