My misconception about Cebu City....

Taga Negros man gud ko. I've been in and out of cebu before pero 2-3 days lang. Karun lang ko nagdugay diri. Mga 2 weeks nako dri sa cebu krun ky ga vacation.

Sa akong pag bakasyon diri I found out that I have a lot of misconceptions about Cebu. One is that cebuano's are mangingilad. Please let's just be open-minded hah.. Mao man gud na ako daun madungog. Na if mo ask daw ka ug direction, uwaton daw ka dayon. Den pag mo sakay daw ka ug taxi i-suroy2 pa daw ka. But recently I found out na it's totally opposite. Within the weeks I've been here, all the cebuano's i asked direction with are very helpful. Eager jud sla kaau mo tabang samot na ang mga jeepney drivers, bystanders, sidewalk vendors, etc...
Mas friendly pa gani ang taga cebu kaysa lugar namo na city of gentle people daw. I dont want and did nit mean to compare and contrast the two cities because they both have their pros and cons.

So my question is:
1. Asa man ga gikan ng misconception na naa daw daghan mangingilad sa cebu?
2. Sa mga dili taga cebu, do you have other misconception or misinformation about Cebu?

basin imo na nadunggan sa uban nga nakasuway jd anang nga bad experiences nila diri sa cebu. naa man jd ng mga negative things diri that u mentioned sa imo misconceptions about cebu, just like every city. but if maka timing lng gyud ka pirme og mga maung taw diri cebu den mawala rana imo mga misconceptions.

actually, kanang pag ingon nga daghan mangingilad, its just another way of saying nga pag bantay pud if ur in a foreign place. and its the same words of caution given to people when they go into other places.

1. di na sya tinood tanan. pero naa jud mga talibagbag diha. murag if you see a one bad apple in a basket it doesn't mean nga mao na tanan apple. I recently went out gahapon for a trip going mid-south commuting cebu-style (which means riding in a fast and furious jeepneys with loud music playing on board; abi kog gi-ban na ni.) asked for directions sa conductor maayo man sab ug honest ang tubag. usahay depende ra sa pag approach nimo sa tawo. the more you go up-north or down-south the more mas hospitable mga lumulupyo. If you are in the City you just can't tell a 100% makasalig ka. there's still room for error.

No offense bro to the people of Negros. There are a lot of people from Negros who do a lot of criminal activity (commonly theft, carjacking, robbery) in Cebu and is not just limited to Cebu but even in the Country Capital.

It's also true na kasagarang badlongon pud dili taga-Cebu.
