I'm pure windows.
Ive heard linux is gaining popularity.
Are there differences with their "flavors" ? (redhat, centOS, etc..)
Or they are just names of their originators ?
Can someone enlighten everyone ?

I use CentOS 4.3 and Suse Linux 10.0 and I say Redhat, Fedora Core and CentOS are more or less the same. Suse Linux by Novell is more like Windows in appearance if you use KDE desktop, I'ved heard many users like Ubuntu Linux which I haven't tried yet

Try K/Ubuntu 6.06, Suse, or Mandriva, di na ka ganahan mo gamit balik ug wind0w$ The wind0w$-like desktop KDE is more manageable and off course more advanced than wind0w$... But i like Gnome .. :mrgreen:

What I like about Linux is you can change desktops, I like KDE when I'm using SUSE but I prefer Gnome when using Redhat or Fedora, but in my laptop I use FVWM coz it's light weight, applications takes long time to load when using KDE or Gnome.
